La Norma - Maurienne PDF Print E-mail
La Norma

You thought that travelling was long and tiring…La Norma is only a few bends away from the motorway (it is one of the closest resorts in the valley to the motorway). An utter change of scenery at 1350 m but strangely enough you feel at home… that’s the cosy effect of La Norma.
Relaxed atmosphere, leisure time, La Norma is a cosy resort that seduces all sports-lovers.  La Norma is situated at 1350 m on a tree-covered plateau. It has a magnificent view of the Vanoise Massif and the high valley of the Arc River. La Norma breathes in the open air. Situated at the bottom of the ski slopes, La Norma is a small pedestrian, car-free resort with wooden buildings and a central shopping area. All the wooden buildings surround the slopes, so there is no need to take your car. If there is snow on your doorstep, you might be able to jump on your skis and slide down to the lifts.
To ensure that you get the most out of your stay in the mountains, we have a never ending list of activities to entertain you. Relax and discover the many different faces that winter in the mountains has to show you. Whether you profit from snowshoe outings, dog-sledge rides or excursions to the Baroque churches, the rustic Haute-Maurienne villages and Turin, you will certainly discover something new and exciting about the Alps. Where else you choose witnessing the breathtaking panoramic view of the Vanoise massif from a chair from the terrace of one of the mountain restaurants (access to pedestrians by the cable car or chair lift).
If you are a hiking fanatic or simply a leisurely walker you'll find several, marked footpaths beginning in the resort. Walks are also organized along the periphery of the Vanoise National Park where, if you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse oh the Ibex that live there. Relaxation and amusement are definitely the order of the day thanks to snow shows, firelight descent, slalom races, street entertainment, waterslides, expositions, cultural presentations, shopping, local gastronomy, cinema, pub, night club, games room...!
•    La Norma is one of the closest ski resorts from a motorway exit = easy access.
•    NEW - the enlargement of snowmaking network : The network has been added to and enlarged during the course of the year. Therefore, natural snow conditions are reinforced by 106 snow cannons.
•    Its vertical drop is 1400m. So you can appreciate its alpine floor free of trees, with a breathtaking view ; and its sub-alpine floor, rich in forest where you will be happy to slalom between the fir trees.
•    One of the biggest advantages of La Norma is the fluidity of its ski area, there are no lift queues.
•    It's a car free resort
