Sunday River - USA PDF Print E-mail
At Sunday River, skiers enjoy peace of mind knowing there will always be a reliable cover of snow, as Sunday River is home to the largest snowmaking operation in the US.

The resort itself stretches five kilometres east to west and comes complete with conference and childcare facilities, a professional ski school, first-aid, and a number of ski-in/ski-out restaurants, cafés and bars.

There are a total of 128 trails covering a distance of 77kms, with a longest run of 4.8kms. Snowmaking covers 92 per cent of the 268 hectares of skiable terrain, which is serviced by 18 lifts. Twenty-five per cent of the runs are rated easy, 35 per cent are intermediate, 23 per cent are difficult, and 17 per cent are for experts only. There are 120kms of cross-country trails, and a terrain park on each peak.

The ski season runs from early November through to early May, with the first and last couple of weeks of the season being the cheapest times to go. Portland International Jetport offers daily flights to Boston International Airport, which services flights to and from most major North American destinations as well as direct flights to and from Europe.
