Telluride - USA
The small township boasts charming hospitality and exquisite Victorian
architecture, while the lift lines are rarely very long and you can
often find a slope all to yourself.
Telluride, a National Historic District, is a typical laid-back Rocky
Mountain town without a traffic light in sight. It’s bursting with
colourful Victorian homes, boutiques, galleries, museums and gourmet
restaurants. Mountain Village is located mid-mountain and offers scenic
accommodation, restaurants, boutiques and conference facilities.
There are 84 trails in total, with the longest run a breathtaking
7.36kms. The trails compose an excellent spread of skill levels: 24 per
cent are easy, 38 per cent intermediate, and 38 per cent difficult.
Sixteen lifts service a skiable area of 680 hectares.
The ski season runs from late November to the beginning of April, with
the period from opening day until Christmas Eve the cheapest time to
ski. The most convenient way to get here is via air, with Telluride
Regional Airport a seven-minute drive from town.
