Casa de Pula is situated along a secluded country
lane, amidst rolling farmland at the foot of the Serra de Llevante and offers
all the ingredients for a relaxing holiday.
Special Offer price of £495pp , incl flights and
a/c car hire based on 2 persons travelling, for departures in April & May
(excluding half-term)
A 2 bedroom stone built house with private pool.
Cleverly designed to capture maximum light and space, Casa de Pula incorporates
high beamed ceilings and large picture windows. French doors lead from the airy
living-dining room onto a shady terrace, providing the perfect setting for
alfresco dining. The terrace overlooks the inviting pool and offers wonderful
views across vines and olive trees to gently undulating hills and the sleepy
village of Son Severa.
The east coast abounds with sandy beaches, such
as Cala Bona and Cala Millor just a few kilometres away, and further south are
the unspoilt coves of Cala Mondrágo, with crystal clear waters and powdery white
sand.
Corsica - Les Aulnes, Palavesa, Porto
Vecchio
A cluster of charming 2 bedroom cottages set in
beautiful gardens with exclusive use of shared pool.
Free children’s place for child under
16 travelling during May or September (excluding half-term).
With beautifully tended gardens that seem like a
tamed version of the wild countryside they nestle in, the five Les Aulnes
cottages and pool are kept in impeccable order by their owners, who are always
within hailing distance if you need them and who happily deliver your fresh
bread and croissants every morning straight to your door.
The cottages are small inside, but when it comes to
outdoor living, size matters. Each cottage has a spacious terrace, the pool is
huge and you can practically lose yourself in the grounds, which are enclosed,
so quite safe for children. The nice thing about the layout of the site is that
it allows you privacy when you want it, yet offers the chance to make friends.
Not surprisingly, Les Aulnes’ guests tend to linger,
listening to the buzz of cicadas and the hum of bees, but you’re on the brink of
the Ospedale Forest in one direction and have the unlimited attractions of the
Porto Vecchio area and its beaches in the other
Tuscany - Le Filigare, San Donato in Poggia,
Nr Castellina, Chianti
For the beauty of its location and the quality of its
vines, this five-centuries old wine estate in the heart of the Chianti Classico
region is twice blessed.
Special Offer price of £485pp , incl
flights and a/c car hire based on 2 persons travelling, for departures in April
& May (excluding half term)
In the summer of 1857, the Arch-Duke of Tuscany and
Pope Pius IX came to savour the delights of Le Filigare. It’s a heavenly place
to stay, perched on a hill surveying sloping vineyards and olive groves – which,
in turn, produce precious extra vergine oil. Both this and the estate’s
award-winning wines can be tasted and bought in situ.
The main hamlet is home to the owner, Signor Buchi
and his family, plus holiday guests, for there are seven comfortable apartments.
In 2002, another beautiful stone-built estate house 400m away was converted into
seven more apartments and a home for one of the family. Roughly between the two
buildings – about 200m away – are a lovely swimming pool and tennis court.
RWT has selected the newer 2-bedroom apartments,
named after local flowers. All have spacious terraces, most with marvellous
views across the vineyards to wooded hills on the horizon. The best traditional
materials were used in the restoration, solid beams above and floors of handmade
tiles, and each bedroom has its own prettily tiled shower or Jacuzzi bathroom.
Well above sea level, the air is fresh here even in
high summer – perfect for walking. It’s only 3km to San Donato (2km of which is
downhill along a typical Chianti ‘white road’), which has a couple of
restaurants and shops, 13km to the main Chianti wine town of Castellina, and
30km to both Florence and Siena.
Crete - Galazio Kima, Kalyves, Western
Crete
Beachside studios and apartments with swimming pool
and sea views. Health & beauty treatments available on site as well as Yoga
on the beach.
2 weeks for the price of 1 for any departures in
April.
Even on an island like Crete the combination of a
really fine sandy beach, accommodation right by the sea and a peaceful position
is hard to come by. These bright, well-kept, self-catering studios and
apartments just outside Kalyves meet all three requirements and we are delighted
to include them in our programme.
Nothing lies between the whitewashed buildings and
the sand and sea, except for the surrounding tropical gardens with their bright
flowers and astonishingly lush green lawn. There is also a large swimming pool
and children’s pool. The fine, wide beach seems endless, and is surprisingly
uncrowded even in high season. Here, soft, deep sand is shaded by tamarind trees
and slopes gently into shallow water, making it ideal for children.
The owner, Yiannis, built these apartments just yards
from the sea some years ago and appropriately named them Galazio Kima meaning
‘blue wave’. He lovingly maintains them in immaculate condition and serves
drinks, snacks, local dishes and ice creams from a little bar here, but there is
also a mini-market only five minutes walk away along the beach.
The natural and unspoilt surroundings of Galazio
Kima, combined with the friendly service, induce almost instant relaxation but,
in addition, there are optional therapies offered here, which enhance a holistic
sense of well-being. A range of wonderfully calming treatments is possible in a
newly established treatment room, including gentle eastern massage, shiatsu, and
rejuvenating face and body therapies, as well as pedicures and
manicures.
Sicily - Casa Anna, Mondello
Charming apartment just a stone’s throw from the main
piazza and beach.
Special Offer price of £495pp , incl
flights and private transfers based on 2 persons travelling, for departures in
April & May (excluding half term)
With Casa Anna as your base, you can immerse yourself
in the vibrant lifestyle of this fashionable seaside town or explore the glories
of Western Sicily by car.
Located in a quiet and characterful street just off
the main square, this gem of an apartment is decorated in typically colourful
Sicilian style with tasteful furniture and ceramics in blue and white
Mediterranean colours.
It is only a couple of minutes’ walk to the lively
and the trendy haunts of the visiting Palmeritani and to the lovely beach, which
encircles the bay. Mondello’s seafront boasts a wide selection of seafood
restaurants, trattorie and cafés and betrays its origins as a fishing village,
in the early morning, when the fishermen sell their catch on the streets. The
many shopping and cultural attractions of the capital, Palermo, are only a short
drive or bus ride away.
